CoreLogic reveals the St Clair record was also broken in February when 8 Belledale Close sold for $1.096 million. All were substantially better than the $1 million benchmark set prior to this year.

Belle Property Strathfield director Norman So said the vendors were thrilled with the result after wanting their home to get the suburb record.

The previous St Clair record was only set in April.

“They were prepared accept any offer made by a buyer that was above the $1.15 million record.”

Mr So added all five active bidders at the auction all thought the home deserved the suburb record.

The mega result took place in what has historically been regarded as one of Sydney’s more affordable suburbs for house hunters. reports the $1.438 million result was about double the $725,000 median house price in St Clair.

Mr So said the property had been one of the grandest houses in St Clair since it was built in 2005.

Large and spacious interiors.

“At the time it was best house in the suburb,” he said.

“The vendors threw every dollar they had at the house because they thought it would be their forever home.”

CoreLogic reports the Blacktown region had a 77.1 per cent clearance rate on the weekend from 35 homes selling under the hammer. This was slightly below the Sydney clearance rate of 80 per cent.

The St Clair sellers listed the property ahead of a move to Strathfield in the inner west.
