Ex-Bardot singer Tiffani Wood toured the world with the chart-topping Aussie girl band, but now describes herself as a “real homebody”.
The mum-of-six turned her talents to home styling, creating a suburban bohemian wonderland at her Carrara home, which will go under the hammer in June.
Wood was a single mum to eldest daughter Lillian, now 14, when she bought the three-bedroom duplex in 2010.
The Newcastle-born entertainer shot to stardom in 2000 as the fifth member of pop phenomenon Bardot, the product of reality TV series, Popstars, alongside Sophie Monk.
They toured throughout Australia and Asia, an experience Wood relished but said left her yearning for the comforts of home.
“You can travel and meet all these people and have a wonderful, exciting life, but there is absolutely nothing like the warmth of coming home and that’s why I’ve tried to make my home a beautiful, warm and inviting space. After being in Bardot I’m a real homebody,” she said.
Wood admitted she was rocked by the band’s unexpected split in 2002.
“I wish I would have had a back-up plan. I went straight out of school and straight into Bardot and then doing cover songs, so when Bardot finished, I’d just bought this place and I remember sitting on the floor; a single mum with all my awards around me, and thinking, ‘what was all this for?’.”
In 2012 she met partner Luke McCoy and over the next five years they became parents to Harley, 7, Beau, 6, Ryder, 5, Brooklyn, 3, and Evie, 2.
The two-storey townhouse for sale is marketed by Dylan Foote, of Ray White Surfers Paradise, and has two bathrooms plus a powder room as well as a sun-drenched private patio. Bedrooms and living areas are decorated in on-trend style, with warm, earthy tones and natural textures including rattan.
The home is within The Avenues, a secure gated community with amenities including two swimming pools and spas, a gym and barbecue areas.
“When I was living in Sydney it was just me and my eldest daughter for six years, and this home was the perfect size when I bought it,” Wood said.
“I loved the area for bringing up a family but it is a little bit small for six kids.
She plans to buy a rural property on the southern Gold Coast – “anywhere with room for six kids to run around”.
Wood now runs Popstar Kidz Workshop, a Burleigh Heads school holiday program where students form girl or boy bands and are mentored in singing, dancing, and styling to produce a showcase performance.
The home will be auctioned on June 10.
